Lake Huron: Orchid Island

A city suspended over water, named originally for the beautiful orchids that colonists discovered there. Many of the structures integrate natural motifs, and the city itself only occupies half of the island it is situated upon; the other half is forests.

In response to the Eagleopolis disaster and Justice' death, martial law has been instated in the city to preserve order. Citizens have no privacy with Big Brother constantly looming over them, inviting some superhumans to liberate them: some to preserve ideals of freedom, and others so that they may rule the people themselves, and still others who just want to fuck da police.

Agent 58664 washed up on the shores of Orchid Island.
On his quest for a home, he'd crossed many miles; YMCAs seemed to frown upon letting heavily armed men stay with them.
Agent had reflected on the battle-ready form of the creature he had saved, the mantis-man and the fish-freak. He'd also glimpsed some being made of light, though for only a fraction of a second.
He had visualized armies, battle suits, DarkForce forms, and constructs made of the matter as his bullets were.

He practiced a little everyday, but had not progressed past DarkForce bullets for his pistol. Even the sawed-off shotgun seemed to need it's own... approach of DarkForce application.

So, wet and spitting out sea-water, Agent 58664 unceremoniously picked himself up and headed down the beach towards the forested side of the island; maybe there was food there.

The sale of the Faberge egg and other loot (through an anonymous broker) made Nerve a rich man. A very rich man indeed, to the point were Nerve considered construction of a pet project - the Nervemobile. A converted amphibious transport capable of land and sea travel it would become his mobile headquarters, where new Berserkers could be shaped, art stored and plans of world-wide irritation formed. It would be capable of radar stealth and have an arsenal equal to that of a small banana republic.
When it was ready and unveiled after a week in a garage in the shanties, it was a thing of beauty.
The only downside was that, due to the speed required and clandestine conditions, Nerve was burning through his money fast.
He was going to have to embark on a new heist.
The Governor's House, an old colonial palace, with quite a lot of decent paintings and a few good suits of armour and weapons that would allow a comfortable life for another 8 months or so.
Nerve knew he couldn't do this alone, so he hired three men from the shanties: Dominico, dumb muscle destined for driving and attracting fire, Alexander, a scrawny hacker with a god complex and Julius, an expert French lock-picker. He promised them half the loot, he promised to himself he would kill them personally after the job was done.
The journey from Sustan to Orchid took a week and these men were already getting on his nerves.

58664's trek past the beach towards the forests was not a subtle one. More than one beach-goer murmured about his appearance and haggard look.
If only 58664 believed he was on a secret assignment, he might've cared enough to not trek through public locations looking for all the world like a deranged man.
The forest was tranquil, at least, and Agent knew which plants could be eaten.

He played with his powers more, forming spoons out of wisps of darkness. He simply could not get anything larger than a bullet to crystallize yet.

belly full of berries, nuts, leaves, 58664 was examining some mushrooms. One was a powerful hallucinogenic, the other a laxative...

He threw them both away and climbed a tree to sleep in the branches.

Orchid Island. An island known for peace and tranquility. Not just for the landscape and the flourishing flora dressing the land, but also for the martial peace that rained the land, keeping the unruly constituents from making a mockery of the achievements of the city.

It was that peace that made this island the perfect place for rehabilitation, despite the trouble caused by would be heroes and political villains. At the edge of the city, where the forest reached out to meet it, existed a center for physical rehabilitation. Close enough to the city to keep tabs on and to receive supplies, but far out enough to give its inhabitants a tranquil setting and a lovely view.

Inside, dark hazel eyes opened onto a white walled room, sterile and bright; though, lit only by the sunlight filtering in through the window. It wasn’t exactly morning, but the drained look in his eyes showed that he hadn’t been asleep for long. The head to which those eyes belonged lifted from the notably elevated bed, followed by the rest of the figure’s upper body. For a moment the man sat on his bed, dressed in the same shade of white that he was, staring at the floor, almost as if it intimidated him.

It wasn’t long before a loud knock broke his trance, the door to the small room sliding open before an orderly made his way inside. Those same hazel eyes as before trailed up along the floor to meet with the rolling of the wheels that moved towards him. Within moments the orderly had the man in the wheel chair and was wheeling him outside.

A pair of exterior doors on the structure slid open as the two quietly made their way outside, rolling through a field full of varied rehabilitation equipment and occupied by the other patients. Not a word was exchanged between the two for the duration of the trip, the one in the chair keeping a downward casted eye and solemn, withdrawn lips, as the one behind the chair, pushing it kept a similar withdrawn demeanor. Once they were outside it seemed that the orderly had no qualms with smiling and greeting the other patients, whereas the one in the chair remained silent.

Eventually the chair stopped and the orderly stepped away, leaving the patient in the wheelchair in the care of the rehabilitation specialist standing before him, smiling as he waited for his assistant to arrive before the two helped the man out of the chair and towards the parallel bars. In the short trip towards them his eyes wandered off elsewhere, roaming over the horizon, the forest, and the city. Once he made it to the bars his hands would reach out to engage them, grabbing at them in a tight grip to support himself.

His eyes wandered from the doctor, to the bars, to the ground beneath him. For a moment he looked as if he did not trust the ground beneath his feet to support him, but eventually he raised a leg and took a step. The metal construct that was now his leg landed with a heavy handed thud as he made his way, wobbly, through the bars. One foot after the other, he stepped, lugging along until he reached the end of his journey. His therapist clapped for his progress, but the patient didn’t seem quite as enthusiastic about the minor accomplishment. He took one more look to the ground before looking forward, beyond the boundaries of where the parallel bars could take him. His wobbling leg lifted once again and reached forward towards new ground.

On hands and knees, now submitting to gravity in what seemed an instant, the patient gripped at the grass below, fingers trembling in their livid grip. It wasn’t long before he was helped up and returned to his chair, the outside world around him rolling along before he was pushed back through the doors of the center. Moments later he was in his room once again, sitting on his bed, staring at the floor, looking as if he were waiting for time to pass by.

After an unspecified but most assuredly lengthy amount of time after his adventure at the strange Lab, Valencruz had arrived in Orchid City.

Getting inside the tightly guarded city was easy for someone like him, and now he had a new land to conquer. New beings to bend to his will, new blood to taste new-

"No" No?!"

"I tried that already, it didn't work. All I ended up doing was murdering the people I claimed to be 'helping'." Well yeah, but you only went crazy cause-

"No excuses. I failed in what I set out to do. I did the exact same thing I killed so many of my kind for....how could I have been so blind? As far as I'm concerned, I don't deserve to walk among the nightkin...and so...I no longer will."

And with that, Valencruz began his angsty, tortured path of redemption by...turning into a wolf? Oh yeah, I forgot he could that. As the largest fucking black wolf anybody had ever seen ran out of the forest and towards the beach. People were, admittedly a little freaked. Why? Well..

"Mommy, that big dog is holding an umbrella above itself! That's amazing!"

Val sure thinks of everything

Following the coastline, Sugar Shock's flying candy horse slowly deterorates in the humidity. It finally becomes unrideable near a small island, half of it city, half of it pristine wilderness.
Sugar aims for the soft sand of a beach, landing less than gracefully.

"The fuck you looking at?" she scolds a family relaxing on the beach. "Oh you can have that by the way!" she switches to being cheerful and points towards the candy horse carcass. The children scream in joy and Sugar sticks up her middle finger at the parents.

Sugar doesn't draw too much attention to herself thanks to the bath Zealot made her take and the borrowed clothes. Annoyed that she couldn't catch up to him, Sugar decides her best course of action is to destroy something. He wasn't around to get mad at her when she did anyway. She easily slips into a corner store, and gets an idea when she sees the slurpee machines.
Like a snake charmer, she draws the slushy drink from the machine, making it grow as she does so. The shopkeeper with her headphones on doesn't seem to notice or care.
Once out the door, Sugar causes the slurpee snake to grow rapidly to the size of the city streets.

"EEEE" She squeals when she tries to ride it. "COOOOOLD!!!" She sends the snake off to rampage on its own and instead heads for the tallest building she can find to watch.

Valencruz, aware that he had to get himself to shade quickly and questioning why he went to a beach full of people as a large wolf, heads....to the city. His life as a dog was starting off awesome, well, it's not like there's an animal control guy in the world would contain him anyways...

There, he sees a giant slurpee rampaging, goddamnit...

"Well, least it's not her.." Still, Valencruz felt something towards the slurpee master, fully aware of the ONLY person who could command such a thing. Wasn't she the cataylist that ultimately led to his downfall? Is there anyone more fitting, then, for him to start with on his path to redemption?
Speaking of, how does that work Val?

"Well Narrator, you ever see that show about the bully who gets turned into a dog by God and has to do 100 good deeds to turn back?" Oh, I'd forgotten about that show.

Well, Wolf-Val, still amazingly holding up an umbrella to block out the sun (cause) charges at the giant slurpee and...
And then what? You have to put down the umbrella to do anything, and if you do...

"Hmm..."

Valencruz admits this is yet another of the things he hadn't thought out.

"OH MY GOD PUPPY LOOK OUT!!" Sugar squeals and causes her creation to rear up. She scrambles down the half climbed pizza place, having settled for it when she realized climbing shit was hard.
"Poor baby!" she coos, rushing towards the big black dog. She circles it, unaffected by the umbrella in its mouth, and holds out a peanut butter cookie she had swiped from the corner store.

The slurpee snake continues on in another direction.

"Puppy? I MEAN-"

"TILTS HEAD TO THE SIDE INQUISITIVELY AND WHINES" No, Val that's my job. Val tilts his head to the side inquisitively and whines, cause dogs do that.

That is when Valencruz realized...he had never spent any time in his wolf form, not really. His dog-speak was pretty rusty but he thinks he has a good handle on how to act like a dog, and so, umbrella in mouth, he looks at Sugar and..

"Bark." Dear god that is most terrifying thing I'd ever heard a dog utter. A flat, monotone bark. As in, just the word. What kind of desperate, twisted, individual would fall for that?

Still, he had to something about the giant slurpee snake....if only because no one else will, so he turned away from the girl and chased after it, trying to come up with ways for a dog to fight slurpees.

"Hey! Puppy! Come baaack!" Sugar Shock chases after the wolf, guiding her slurpee snake away from it so it won't be hurt.

Responding quickly to the commotion, three tanks in successions rolled out onto the streets, followed by a small force of four jeeps. One of the men announces that they intend to open fires on the massive creature, and that any civilians who desired to live would need to clear the area within the next fifteen seconds. Most of the cars were already parked as the city-wide curfew loomed overhead; it would be enforced in the coming two hours as the sun began to set.

Meanwhile, back at the beach, the 30 allotted minutes for beach play time expired, and the patrons were given moments to evacuate the area. Some children cried as they were torn away from their delectable candy stallion, but such is life in Soviet Russia Orchid Island.

A new group took their place as a new group of children had their way with the horse. Kids are weird.

This isn't getting him anywhere. Maybe he should just tear out her throat and-

No, That's exactly the kind of thinking that got him where he was...hm...

He stopped for a second to look over at Sugar (with cute dog eyes) and then...sped out towards the Slurpee, trying to get into it's path.

Of course, even as a dog, Val is still a vampire. He'd live through this...he's just hoping she doesn't know that, and really likes dogs.

Speaking of: Holy shit wolf Val is fast. Super-speed being an attribute he hadn't played with yet, he rushes towards the front of slurpee snake, intending to ram into it.

"Puppy!!" Sugar cries, looking between the tanks and the slurpee monster and the adorable red-eyed dog. She forces the slusy snake away from the wolf and towards the tanks and SPLOOSH!! removes whatever it is (magic probably, like Sugar knew how her powers worked) that's holding the snake together over top of the little army force.

Job well done, as far as Valencruz was concerned. 1 down, 99 to go.
Still, what now? He couldn't leave this girl alone, she was a psychopath. His choices were either kill her now...

"I'm not a puppy-I MEAN...bark" Or try to control her, somehow? Does his mind-control work in wolf form? He decided to try it and, with his eyes shining red, stared up at Sugar Shock, tail wagging.

"I AM NOT A PUPPY" was the mental dominance he was trying to force on her

"Aren't you a cutie wootie!" Sugar tells the dog, again offering it a peanut butter cookie.
"C'mon, we need to get away from those army jackasses! C'mere puppy! C'mere!" Sugar whistles and tries to get the dog to come with her, too distracted by the army to look the dog in the eyes for any length of time.

The tanks stopped in their treads as the icy beverage coated them, and the men inside of them poked their heads out, confused beyond belief. The jeeps behind them, however, rolled on ahead, intending to pursue the woman for her refusal to wear one of the government approved attires.

"Well, I don't have anything else to do-I MEAN BARK. SNIFFS COOKIES" Goddamnit Val, you are just the worst dog ever. Alright, HE BARKS AND SNIFFS THE FUCKING COOKIE, then follows behind Sugar, trying to stay in her shadow, his eyes still shining just in case her, and anyone else, looks into them.

"Mommy! Look that-WOLF IS NOT A PUPPY"

"Holy shit is that- WOLF IS NOT A PUPPY"

"Oh my god! That poor girl! That thing might have rabi-THE WOLF IS NOT A PUPPY"

"Good puppy!" Sugar hurries behind some buildings and climbs some fences, looking back every so often to make sure the doggy is following. Not knowing the city well, however, they eventually come to a dead end. Sugar forms a candy sword for herself and creeps back the way they came, hoping that the jeeps hadn't followed close enough.

As the jeeps closed in on the vibrantly vivacious vixen, one individual casually left his vehicle and dictated that her violations of city dress code and harboring a wild animal would ultimate lead to either life imprisonment without possibility of parole, or forty years of hard labor, her choice. See, Big Brother isn't all bad?

The penalty for her friend, however, being a wild animal and wearing no clothes, save for an umbrella for some reason, would be death.

"Growl" Valencruz growled ferociously at the police over, then, realizing both that 1) the sun was fairly low in this area and 2) he still had superpowers, had an idea.

"Bark. Bark. Excited bark." With that, and lots of head motions, he urged SS to...

Aw fuck it, he ran around behind her, then, ran underneath her legs....AND SO, SUGAR GAINED THE TITLE: WOLF KNIGHT AS SHE SAT ATOP HER MIGHTY BLACK STEED.

With a speed and agility unrivaled by normal dogs, Valencruz scaled a building by jumping back and forth between the walls of the alley and took off through the city, easily jumping rooftops with the girl on his back.

Sugar Shock holds on tight to the wolf's fur. First getting to fly, now getting to ride a giant dog through the city, this day wasn't so bad afterall!
"Woohoo! Fuck da poliiiice! I'm master of the world!!" She called, wind whipping through her still candy wrapper free hair.
With amazing speed, the two quickly reached the outskirts of town. The wolf seemed to be headed for the safety of the forest.

"Motherfucking psychic bears and their fucking telekinesis!" One of the soldiers shouted.
The woman wouldn't get far, though, rest assured. The search helicopters that perpetually hung in the air would see to that, confirming that she that run into the forest. Always with the fucking forest.

On the ground, many men pursued her, because she was really the only person who ever bothered to break any law ever since the first month or so of this.

Valen-woof, having gone back to where he started, shook with the weight of the girl on him, apparently signaling that she get off.

"Dog noises"

Sugar Shock gives the dog a hug before climbing off and readying her candy sword.

"Good puppy!"
