Texas: Sustan City

Prophet was excited, one of the defilers just randomly exploded and the other officers were under a lot of pressure.
Some of the Karfenites appeared to be dragging the inanimate bodies to the nearby hideout to be put in holding cells, or sacrificed.
They were progressing at a fast rate, it'd be time soon.
The chaos was exhilarating, Prophet wanted to be involved, he kicked a few officers in the face, they even had guns, so a normal person would think that would be the most stupid fucking idea. But, he had a secret weapon.
He pulled out of his pocket, a piece of paper?
It was a piece of paper, just rolled up into a ball.
He threw them at each officer and....

Thats right, these were knowledge throwing stars. Upon contact they transfer unfathomable knowledge taken from thousands of random books, they usually either knock out the afflicted or just hurt their brain. They didn't last very long though, around fifteen minutes or so. The rioters would take the knocked out ones to the hideout and the ones holding their head in fear would just be beaten the shit out of.

Agent 58664 edged his way closer to the barricade, catching glimpses of the armoured vehicles through the various gaps inherent in shanties.
When he was less that 100ft away, 58664 dropped prone and crawled to an advantageous position, seeking both cover and a clear shot.

The DarkForce bullets were even more silent than the pistol's regular ones, as if they ate their own sound. At this distance, it was hard to tell if he was hitting anything, as DarkForce Bullets were insidious buggers than built up damage inside without leaving traces outside, but Agent though he was hitting the statue... that statue which was... moving?
A trick of the sun and irritated eyes.
58664 kept firing, a slow, steady stream of DarkForce undermining the integrity of the statue. Whether it would collapse into ash before the cars decided to move again was anyone's guess.

Nerve continued to cycle through the city, keeping a calm poker face the whole time.
He did have a few shady looks from certain policemen and bystanders but a quick wave soon got them squabbling and distracted.
Ah, there it was, the Sustan Classical Museum. Grand marble steps, replicas of classical statues, golden plaques. A rich place, a good place.
There were some guards present but a few were caught up in the traffic caused by the events in town.
The museum was for the most part bereft of visitors, due to the chaos in the city convincing many to stay at home.
Now, Nerve had to walk in slowly, incognito, get the guards frothing, perhaps make them pop a vein or two.

The guards were soon at it, punching each other recklessly, with more guards coming in and getting hit with rage inducement themselves. Nerve had no problem in getting to the control panel. A lone guard was sitting on a chair, watching the cameras and the fights with growing alarm, the radios abuzz with warnings. Nerve cleared his throat and the guard turned towards him, only to get hit in the chin, hitting a nerve, making him unconscious. The room was locked, the hapless guard out on the ground. A knife came out of Nerve's pocket and the guard was woken up with a jab in the shoulder blades. "Now, I'm going to slice you slowly and you'll tell me everything I need to know." Nerve announced. The treatise did prove to be useful after all.

The guard, crying, his flesh torn, revealed much. Where the keys were, where the exhibits were (the Vinci codex, Conquistador map and now a Faberge egg), the typical guard armament and patrols. He was put out of his misery. The cameras were switched off, the gun taken.
Nerve was now on the hunt.

The casing around the statue finally started to give away, the pulsing mass of flesh beneath the surface surging outwards. Pieces of the foam-crete explode outwards, finally freeing Eidolon. Eidolon's shoulders heave as it takes a few breaths, its forelimbs shifting into massive crab-like claws.

"Free."

Eidolon crushed the armored car that was towing him into an unrecognizable ball of metal. Grasping it within its claws it bowled the pile into another armored car, trashing it and sending it skidding off the side of the road.

Clicking its claws together, it turns on the rest of the armored cars.

"Crush."

What a statue it was!
A large monster, armed to the teeth with pointy bits and sharp things, had emerged from the statue and started decimating the armoured vehicles.
Agent drank in the movements of this beast; it's every attack and nuance of its physiology was being examined with the utmost scrutiny (albeit, slightly blurred).
As he learned to utilize the powers of DarkForce more adeptly, 58664 pondered whether he would make a golem, or suit in the style of this beast. His mind raced with anticipation.

A nearby and likely ignored television flickers with news; a man comes on screen, well groomed and in his early 30s. An image to the right of him shows Zealot as he looked before Crisis, and he begins speaking: "Yes, Zealot has been confirmed to be alive." A picture of Justice's logo comes on, replacing Zealot. "Justice is still, presumably, not; Zealot has called a press conference in order to speak about that fact. We will be there, live, bringing you up to the minute news." A short, stock radio tone, and then a commercial.

As observation had lasted more than long enough, Agent 58664 left the perpetually ongoing battle in search of an hq to meditate and practice in. His mind was settled on the YMCA or squatting in a hotel penthouse; the life of a hobo was one of countless opportunities. Decisions, decisions.

Nerve had take what he wanted so far, carrying his loot in a bag slung over his shoulder. A codex, some treasure maps, even a Faberge egg. A good haul.
The museum was now more akin to an asylum, full of mad howls and shouts.
What was more pleasing than the haul was the fact that nobody had bothered to stop him. Sure, Nerve wasn't a high-profile villain like, say, Behemoth but still the fact that the authorities weren't intervening was worrying. Worrying that is, for the Law.
Yet Nerve is above the law. Nay, with the haul he collected today he would make himself rich, rich to the point where sustenance was of little concern. Then he would continue his search for his past. A past, suggested by the Conquistador map, that lay in Orchid Island.
Now, Nerve walked with the hope nobody spoils his home run out of the museum.

Luke stood ready by his cruiser. Eight rioters with Taser-Batons were running towards him. He fired three times, dropping the three largest with his XREP rounds. The remaining five paused, unsure of what to do with their comrades downed.

"Death to the Defiler!"

Two men rushed forward with batons raised, ready to strike. Luke grabbed the first man's wrist and shoulder and spun him around, pinning his arm behind his back. A quick press of a button and the man was tased by his own baton and fell to the ground. Luke grabbed the stun-baton just in time for the second man to strike. Blocking the baton with his own, Luke quickly sucker-punched and tased the second man, grabbing his baton as well.

Luke stood ready to fight the three rioters who were standing in front of him. They looked at each other, then back to Luke, and promptly ran away.

Luke quickly retrieved his XREP rounds, handcuffed the unconscious rioters, threw the rioters into the barred back of the cruiser, and bagged the batons for evidence. Where was that chopper? Luke didn't want to stay around here forever with six unconscious people in his car, especially when the rioters where starting to quiet down. Luke just hoped that the mysterious man in the mask didn't make his way over here before the chopper intercepted him.

Looking around and noticing nothing to immediately challenge it, the creature yells to the sky and roars a bestial challenge to any who may hear. Standing around and not hearing a response, the creature shies away, and begins running and leaping from building to building, powerful leg muscles propelling it to inhuman heights.

Eventually, the beast disappears into the distance, no where to be found.
