Oregon: Hot Spring Harbor

Agent eyed the man with an air of disdain.

"Sir, if you do indeed want to see my I.D., it can be arranged, but you will be further entangling yourself in this affair and draw further scrutiny on yourself and your.... habits," 58664 relayed in a calm voice as he looked past the man into the house. "Sufficient to say that, were we to take an interest in you, we would need to know everything... Sir, may I please come into your home, if you are more involved than first appeared, I would like to begin investigations as quickly as possible."

"Wait, wait, you said I'm going to end up entangled in the affair, and I told you everything I knew. Why do you need to come in and ask me more if you won't show me an ID?"

By now, the man's slight panic had become annoyance.

Agents arm shoots out like a bolt of lightning as he grabs the man's arm and pins it behind his back. In the same movement, he steps inside and kicks the door shut. (hell yea improved grapple and grapple +20

"Sir, your increased agitation is indicative of one who is hiding more than he lets on. WHAT ARE YOU HIDING?"

"My agitation?" he argued. He winced in pain as the old many twisted his arm like a pretzel.

Grimacing, he shouted to his wife:
"Janet! Call the cops!"

It was was then that Janet ran out of the kitchen and dropped a plate onto the hardwood floor, shattering it. Janet was shocked.

"Hank! Oh my god, what's going on?"

"Jan, call the cops!"

"Right! Jesus..."

And with that, Janet called the cops. But you know cops.

"You know, she's allowed to shoot you in self defense..."

"What?"

"JANET!"

Agent flips the man around and brings him to the ground so that he may keep an eye on Janet.
"Sir, you are hereby under arrest.
You have the right to remain silent.
Anything you say or do can and will be held against you in a court of law.
You NO LONGER have the right to speak to an attorney.
Do you understand these rights as they have been said to you?"

"What? No? Get off me!"

"Hank, wait, stop!" Janet shrieked as he ran to the clearly insane old person.

"Jan, stay back, he's crazy!"

And then the cops came to the house in two cruisers giving Janet the chance to scream for help through the window.

"Help, there's a crazy guy and he's got my husband! Also, hi Tony!"

"Hey Janet!" Officer Tony called out as his partners rushed up the front stairs and kicked the door down, brandishing their pistols.

Damn, small town police sure is efficient.

"Officers, I have placed this man under arrest for refusal to comply in an ongoing Super investigation. Handcuffs, now!" Agent orders as he holds his free hand out, for the handcuffs

"Gladly." one of the officers responds. His badge read "Officer Odinson". Norse, mayhaps?

With that, he snapped one of the cuffs on the man's free wrist and reached around him to get the other. If successful, the old man would be in handcuffs. If he failed, the man would not be in handcuffs. Such is the the cruel existence of handcuffs.

Agent sighed deeply before announcing, "Officer, you have broken Section 16.1a of the Supers Investigation Act. You are now classified as a non-entity by law and presumed to be complicit in the ongoing acts of one or more known super-villains. You will now be apprehended as humanely as possible."

All this was said as 58664 placed his foot on the previously grappled man's arm to keep him pinned and, grabbing the officer with the hand which had been cuffed, pulled him off-balance as he stood. using the officer as a human shield, Agent quick-drew his gun and pointed it at the other officer.

"Officer, these men are hereby under arrest. You may aid me in detaining them peaceably or surrender."

Officer Rogers cautiously kept his gun aimed at the resisting individual while Officer Banner radioed in for more back up. Officers radioed back and informed them that they'd be there after three or so posts, excluding this one. Meanwhile, Janet had snuck up behind the man and smashed a frying pan against the back of his head.

Agent 58664 stumbled forward, letting loose both captives, but maintained the presence of mind to roll for cover as the aiming officer shot.

"Janet, you are now also guilty of aiding and abetting Super Villains. Former Officer, you have also been found guilty," 58664 announced. "You may still find leniency if you surrender immediately, else your lives are forfeit."

His head felt numb and Agent feared that he might slip into crystallization unwillingly.

Janet helped her husband up to his feet while the four cops tackled the intruder and one of them, through sheer chance, managed to fasten the other cuff. Officer Stark attempted to lead the rogue into the back of the cruiser, intent on jailing him and stuff.

Combat while bound? 58664 sensed it would've been more familiar to have his feet bound as well and more people around to work off of.

One police officer stayed with the couple to take a statement while two officers held him by the arms and the third followed close behind.
Unfortunately for the officers, Agent's armour was not as convenient to hold as a clothe shirt and he was still somewhat slick with slime from harbour-water. A quick jerk of the arms freed him from their grip. He reached behind him, grabbed the third officer by the head, flipped into the air (knees grazing the ceiling), and landed behind the man, cracking his neck audibly. He pushed the now-limp body towards the officer on the left, occupying him for a moment, and drove his elbow into the neck of the officer on the right before sending a roundhouse kick to the back of the neck of the officer on the left. He grabbed one of his guns off the incapacitated officers, rolled towards cover, and shot the officer who was questioning the couple in the head; the shot, though coming from a pistol, being silent, and leaving no trace, was as powerful as fire from a sniper or assault rifle. The officer's brain was mush.

"You were offered a chance to surrender peacefully, reflect on your aggressive nature in the afterlife."
The screams were silenced before they began and the incapacitated officers executed.

58664 looked through the officer's and couple's wallets for money, gaining a grand total of $190 for the effort. He found a key for the cuffs/shot them off carefully with his DarkForce bullets (which, as previously stated, have a way of disintegrating inanimate objects). He took the keys of an officer and turned off the flashing lights of both cars. He found a large, nondescript coat in the man's closet and appropriated it, as well as the keys to the sedan, a facility security-guard uniform and badge, 4 pairs of handcuffs (3 if there was no key), a wallet, a police officer's badge, and a flashlight. He finally dragged all the bodies in front of the gas stove, spread some spare gasoline he'd found in garage, set each of their clothes on fire with the husband's lighter, and turned on the gas stove.
Though the bodies would be easily identified, Agent has no intention of letting the world know how his DarkForce bullets worked on people. The fire would have incinerated their brains (as far as I know), making the remnants of a DarkForce attack and charred remains of their burnt skeletons completely indistinguishable.
He thought of taking care of the neighbour across the street, but a good shave and haircut would make him unrecognizable based off any description she might give.
He drove from the scene calmly, reflecting that these citizens were a strange bunch who refused to yield to higher authority than their own. The explosion hit as he was turning the end of the street. After ditching the sedan in a large parking lot, 58664 walked a few blocks before buying some shaving equipment (a straight razor and shaving cream) and then checked into a motel. All said, he'd spent all the money he'd gotten from the incident at the couple's house, had gotten a clean shave and a shower, washed his gear, and learned a bit about the facilities.

six deaths is weird behavior for a hero but whatever i guess?

By the time the police reached the house, they had the charred bodies of four officers and two civilians to deal with. Mrs. Keaupath could only identify the strange man as an old, peculiar gentleman with white hair and a beard, and could honestly not give the officers any more detailed description. That's what they were looking for, and they ran with the hypothesis that whatever individual did this also participated in the attack at the labs. With this knowledge, Lt. Danvers, Detective Romanoff and Commander T'chaka set off in search of the assailant(s?) of the grisly killer.

Agent, clean-shaven for the first time in months, walked the streets of Harbour, turning here and there at a whim while trying to stray as close as advisable (that is to say, where there would be more than a 2 people walking the streets) to the facility.

Come nightfall, he would break from the crowds and head towards the hot-springs. he theorized that they had been largely ignored during the grand escape a few months back, and wanted to see what all the buzz was about.

While Lt. Danvers and Romanoff decided to head up to the mountainous regions that housed the hot springs, Commander T'chaka had commissioned a fishing vessel to scour the shores and immediate ocean area. Danvers and Romanoff would have to tread with caution, however, as they were still fervent believers of the strange legends about the region. T'chaka did not exercise the same caution, however, for the seas were typically safe in daylight.

As the sun begins to set, Agent heads up/down the road/walkways towards the hot-springs.
He walks into what he presumed was a public building and calls out for... well, anyone.

"Hello? Anyone here? I'm here to ask about the hot-springs."

The man's only response would be "Hello? Anyone here? I'm here to ask about the hot-springs." Echoes are weird, and most of the townspeople ended their work days with the end of the actual day. The area wasn't safe at night and most of the town knew it.

'How odd,' 58664 muttered to himself.
Night life usually revolved around relaxation, and hot-springs were said to be quite relaxing.
He wandered around the building, trying doors to see which were open. He had no intention of kicking down any doors, but he did wonder what he had access to while no one was here.
A soak underneath the stars might do him some good, but he'd need towels and a rubber duck first.

It seemed someone forgot to leave the door to the downstairs area locked. Of course, this particular building was built over one of the cooler springs, with many of the others being too hot for delicate human flesh.

Back upstairs, another door was visibly agape, probably leading to towels and bath salts and what have you. A third door down the hall was also open, but the fact that it was more of a large portal that didn't close suggested it was always open. It would lead further into the mountains.

Agent was glad he'd thought to take that flashlight.

He checked to see that the lights worked (if they did, there was no need to use up flashlight).

He proceeded down the stars and, keeping his back to the wall, examined the downstairs area first.

He pondered that this would've been a scene fitting a horror picture if he had been clad in naught but a towel. Fortunately, Agent was still fully dressed.

Upon working the light switch, the area was illuminated and yielded view of nothing spectacular. Simply a large pool of simmering water with stuff on the walls. Hot springs stuff: decorative statues, towels, robes, stuff like that. A spa treatment clinic was at the corner of the floor plan.

58664 circled the room, sticking to the wall so that he kept a view of the entire room as he moved.

He would examine the spa-treatment clinic, looking for anything amiss and hopefully finding some penny to toss into the spring (And make a wish) before going to the 2nd floor of the building.

A penny could be spied on the floor. When picked up and flung into the spring, it crackled with a tiny of mount of dark energy before sinking into the water.

Upstairs, there was but one "room" so to speak. An attic with very little of interest, merely some equipment the spa owners used to maintain the upkeep and hygiene for the facility. Turning to a window, one would spy a perched hawk, staring intently, almost as if it was spying on the intruder. It cawed and flew away.

As he had thrown the penny into the pool and turned away, Agent had felt a twinge in his stomach as he heard the penny drop into the pool. Something was upsetting the DarkForce within him. Investigation would have to wait until the area was secure, however.

While he was upstairs, finding a whole lot of nothing, Agent noticed a hawk. As he watched the hawk flying away, 58664 wondered if hawks should be active at this time of day.

Having, more-or-less, made certain that he was alone in the building, Agent went back down to shimmering spring. He tossed a few more odds and ends he'd picked up in and around the house into the spring (loose rocks, bits of paper, inconsequential things).

If the twinges continued as objects broke the water's surface, he would move to the stairs and shoot a DarkForce bullet at the pool.

If nothing happened after that, he would dip in a foot.
